Project Overview
DiscomRobulated is an independent short film produced during my time in Vancouver, Canada. Set in 1970s Seattle, the film blends comedy and period aesthetics in a story about two police officers caught between chaos and charm. The project gave me hands-on experience working within a professional-style crew while exploring stylized storytelling.
My Role
- 2nd Assistant Camera: Supported the camera team with focus pulling, lens changes and equipment management
- GFX & Titles: Designed graphic elements and title sequences in post-production
Technical Collaboration
Working closely with the camera team allowed me to deepen my understanding of on-set workflow and precision under pressure. I also collaborated with the director and editor to align the visual effects and titles with the film's 70s-inspired tone, combining technical problem-solving with creative intuition.
Graphic Work
For the film's post-production, I developed title sequences and on-screen graphics that matched the retro aesthetic of 1970s television and cinema. The design language became a bridge between humor, nostalgia and the film's stylized visual identity.
On Screen
DiscomRobulated brought a fresh take on the classic buddy-cop story, celebrating 70s cinema through playful visuals and practical filmmaking. The project strengthened the film's unique tone and gave me a deeper appreciation for collaboration across departments in a high-paced production environment.
